Founded in 2017 in New York City, State Cashmere has been in the cashmere industry for generations. Our family legacy of shepherding in Inner Mongolia inspires us to share the beautiful life we grew up with, raising cashmere goats. Unlike most cashmere brands, we work directly with our trusted shepherd partners, avoiding any middlemen, traders or brokers.

Proper cashmere care is essential. We recommend hand washing with a gentle shampoo, laying flat to dry, and storing folded in a cool, dark, dry place. Use a pilling comb to maintain that signature silky smoothness. While our label states "dry clean only," hand washing will actually make your cashmere softer over time.

Cashmere is a unique and exclusive fiber. Each goat produces just 150g annually, requiring 4-5 adult goats to make one 100% cashmere sweater. Pilling is a natural occurrence, but can be easily managed by following our care steps.
