Established in 1837 and with over 180 years of proud British manufacturing & design heritage, Moon, one of Great Britain's last remaining vertical woollen mills, crafts its beautiful ranges of throws, cushions and fashion accessories from the historic mill in Guiseley, Yorkshire. The term 'vertical' is a throwback to the Victorian era when mills would rise several stories, with each floor containing separate parts of the manufacturing process, and it remains a unique confirmation of Moon's authenticity as they control every stage of production from raw wool to finished product including Dyeing, Blending, Carding, Spinning, Warping, Weaving, and Finishing.

Moon's passion for distinction remains as strong now as ever, carrying the message of what it truly means to be 'Made in Great Britain'. From supplying fabric for a growing Leeds market throughout the 1800's to supplying the major fashion houses of modern times, this rich tapestry all comes together to create quite a story over the past 180 years. Generations of skill and expertise go into each and every one of Moon's products, which are created with a balance between innovative design & traditional craft, maintaining their position at the forefront of commercial trends with consistent high quality.

The wool that arrives at Moon's site is either scoured or cleaned and combed broken tops, which ensures that there are less than 0.3% impurities within the fleeces. The raw wool then goes to the Dye House, to be dyed using precise combinations of dye, pressure, temperature and time, with over 500 different shades and colours available, and a library of shade standards and recipes to ensure continuity in each colour year after year. This highly skilled process is essential to creating beautiful yarns.

Moon's signature soft handle is fashioned in the Finishing process, where pure Yorkshire spring water is pumped from an artesian well within the mill. Using a subtle neutral palette of camel, slate grey and off-white yarns, Moon's in-house creative team have crafted a versatile collection of natural home accessories all in supremely soft Merino Lambswool, with a combination of Scandinavian and British design elements offering up a unique take on this classic color group, aiming to tie in to a broad range of interior styles. Great for use as a sofa throw, throw rug, or decorative blanket, the collection measures 55"x73".
